Xavier Scruggs

Former MLB Player

Xavier Scruggs is a former MLB player and current ESPN/SiriusXM/MLB.com Analyst. He is passionate about empowering athletes and creators as they transition to life after sports. Xavier spent several seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins and also played in Korea and multiple Latin countries. He joined ESPN this year as a game analyst on Korean Baseball and his role has evolved into him being one of ESPN’s top MLB game analysts. Xavier is the host of MLB’s new podcast “The Bigs” and is continuing to grow his profile as a broadcaster and influencer on both traditional and non-traditional media (including TikTok).

Jay Mike Johnson

Marketing Strategist

Jay Mike Johnson specializes in helping athletes and agencies tell their story their way. Jay Mike works closely with each of our clients to help simplify the storytelling and content creation processes. Not only has he been vital in the development of Xtraordinary Athletes, but he has also worked to develop brand and marketing strategy for companies like adidas, Nike, Minor League Baseball, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Fox Sports Florida, and Sporting KC. He is a graduate of Samford University with a degree in Sports Marketing and holds an MBA from the University of South Florida’s Vinik Sport and Entertainment Management Program.

Why X Founded XA

While playing winter ball in Columbia, Xavier Scruggs discovered the power of documenting his experiences as an athlete. He was just a minor leaguer at the time, but the response from fans and followers opened his eyes to the impact that athletes can make when they leverage their platform. Xavier’s belief that anyone can use their platform to influence those around them and his desire to invest in the next generation of influencers is on display daily as he transitions from Major League Baseball player to CEO of Xtraordinary Athletes.
“I was always motivated to be more than an athlete. At a young age my mother always identified and mentioned to me athletes that were well spoken, athletes that were dedicated to their community, and athletes that found a way to give back. She reminded me constantly that even though I had special talents as an athlete, I had an opportunity to do much more and had the ability to succeed even outside of my sport. Though accomplishing more outside of my sport has long been a passion of mine, I have unfortunately seen many athletes not take advantage of the potential both inside and outside of their sport. I know there is a need to communicate to these athletes, because they can be so much more. They just need the right GamePlan.”
